Wednesdays a Girl!

So today on my way home from work (I work at a vet clinic) my mom calls me to tell me that my, what I thought was male, bearded dragon had laid and is still laying eggs! I started freaking out worrying about her and feeling horrible cause I didnt have any proper laying conditions for her. If I would have gotten a phone call an hour earlier I could have talked to the vet (who happens to be a local exotics vet filling in with us) and asked more info. I called our vet tech who knows a bit about exotics and I used Dr. Internets and feel more confident and not so worried about her now. So far shes laid 17 eggs and I've moved them into a soft sandy corner just in case she plans on laying more or burying these ones. I think, hopefully shes done though, I offered her fresh water and choices of veggies and fruits. She drank some of the water and shes now standing back by the eggs.

I feel so proud of her. I'm also pretty happy that shes laying them, I'm assuming its a good sign that shes healthy and comfortable in her enviroment. I'll be taking her to see the vet to have a check to just to make she shes fine. And I'll for sure be running to the vet if at any point she seems uncomfortable. I love this little spiky little beast.

And of course...
